What’s New for Compatibility Matrix

Added support for OpenShift (OKD) 4.16 and 4.17. For vendors supporting enterprise customers running OpenShift, OKD 4.16 and 4.17 are both now available in Compatibility Matrix.

Use one command to create clusters and add-ons at the same time. Vendors can now pass the [.inline]--addon[.inline] flag with the [.inline]cluster create[.inline] command to create a cluster with add-ons using a single command. Docs.

What’s New for the Replicated SDK

Announcing: Replicated SDK is GA! After evaluating adoption and addressing feedback, the Replicated SDK is now Generally Available (GA). For more information about the Replicated product phases, see Support Lifecycle Policy.

Expose granular status informer details in the SDK API endpoints. The SDK API [.inline]/app/status[.inline] endpoint now returns details on each resource for which a status informer is configured. Vendors can use this to query the state of their application using the SDK. Docs.

Specify node affinity for the SDK. The SDK Helm chart now supports node affinity, which is a standard Kubernetes feature that allows you to schedule workloads onto particular nodes. Docs.

Added support for updating instance tags with the SDK in air gap environments. Vendors can now use the SDK to update instance tags in air gap installations. Similar to the collection of air gap telemetry, instance tags in air gap installations are updated in the Vendor Portal when a support bundle is collected in the installation environment and then uploaded to the Vendor Portal.

SDK "dev mode" replaces "integration mode". Vendors can now select a checkbox to enable "dev mode" for the SDK on Development type licenses. When installed in dev mode, the SDK returns mock data for certain API endpoints to help vendors more easily integrate the SDK into their application. This replaces integration mode for the SDK, which was always enabled automatically when installing with Development licenses. Docs.

What’s New for the Vendor Portal

Demote a release after it’s been promoted to a channel. Vendors can now "demote" a release from the channel Release History page to prevent the release from being downloaded. This feature can be particularly useful when vendors discover a critical issue with a release after it’s already been promoted. Docs.

Pagination and search added to Channels page. The Vendor Portal Channels page now includes pagination, improving the speed of this page for vendors with several channels. A search bar is also added, which allows vendors to search for a channel by name.

What’s New for Product Documentation

Improved the docs for the Embedded Cluster port requirements. The list of ports required for Embedded Cluster installations is now broken up into four main subcategories: ports needed for local processes on a single node, ports for inter-node communication, ports that need a firewall opening to the user (as in, the Admin Console port), and ports for air gap (as in, the LAM port). Docs.

Improved Embedded Cluster overview with information about built-in extensions. An Embedded Cluster Overview topic makes it easier to find introductory information about Embedded Cluster, including details about the built-in extensions that are deployed by Embedded Cluster, a comparison to kURL, as well as Embedded Cluster requirements and limitations.

Automate the Replicated CLI docs in the product documentation site. The Replicated CLI reference docs published in the Replicated product docs site are now automatically generated, using the same content that appears in the CLI help text. This update helps to ensure that the content vendors see in the CLI and in the docs is consistent and up-to-date.

Added a diagram showing licensing with the Replicated Platform. A new diagram in the About Customers and Licenses topic depicts all the licensing-related features of the Replicated Platform and how they fit together to provide a cohesive solution. As part of this update, there’s also an updated overview on this page that describes the important elements of our licensing solution as shown in the diagram. Docs.
